Perhaps you have had years of counseling (talk therapy), have substantial self awareness and understanding of the factors that have disposed you to certain reactions to the daily
experience of living. Likely, despite all this knowledge, you still find yourself repeating some of the same patterns of limiting behavior in work, play and relationships. If your therapy has been focused on processing information from the neck up, the whole realm of mind-body interconnectedness has been neglected. In the subtle physiological shifts that occur as we experience life are the biochemical changes that alter mental processes. We are all aware of the way our mental processes are altered by the charge of adrenaline we experience when we have a close call with a car accident or other life threatening incident. At a subtler plane, these biochemical shifts are occurring continuously as we assimilate stimuli. Often we can find ourselves in an unpleasant mood or in a reactive state, without really noticing what brought it on.
Mindful Counsel works with this subtle awareness through mindful exploration of present moment experience, finding those places of activation without judgment while appreciating how at one time the response was useful, perhaps at a survival level, but is now an unwelcome contributor to maintaining old patterns. This mindful study supports developing new responses, updated stories and beliefs and more choice in our daily lives.
Whether you are a therapy veteran or this is a new experience, Mindful Counsel offers a gentle, non-judgmental space and approach for exploring the things that hold you back from being the person you want to become combined with support for building your internal resources to manifest accordingly.
